Orphans and Vulnerable Children

In Uganda, orphanhood is more than the absence of parents—it’s the presence of vulnerability. When a child loses one or both parents, the loss is not only emotional but structural. Without stable adult care, many children face a daily struggle to access food, shelter, education, and protection. Their futures become uncertain, shaped by forces beyond their control.
The challenges are compounded when families and communities lack the resources to respond. Poverty, disease, displacement, and social exclusion all contribute to a fragile environment where orphaned children are often left behind. Many drop out of school, suffer from malnutrition, or become targets of exploitation. Short-term aid may offer temporary relief, but it rarely addresses the deeper systems that keep children vulnerable.
At Don Bosco Children Ministries International, we believe that every child deserves more than survival—they deserve dignity, love, and opportunity. That’s why we focus on long-term, holistic care for orphaned and vulnerable children across Uganda. Our programs strengthen families, improve food security, promote child protection, and expand access to education and healthcare. We also offer mentorship and training that help children and caregivers build sustainable livelihoods.
Being an orphan in Uganda should not mean being forgotten. Through consistent support and community-based solutions, we help children reclaim their futures and thrive beyond their circumstances.
